Patrick joined our BuildLoan Broker Desk at the start of 2017 and has four years’ experience in the financial services industry with his previous role as a Life, Pensions & Investment Consultant at Scottish Widows. On a daily basis Patrick ensures that the brokers he works with are confident in the self build process and helps source the right funding solution for their client. The variety of this job role in terms of the different projects and brokers is something Patrick is really enjoying.
Jonathan has 16 years’ experience in financial services with his previous role being at Bank of
Scotland as a Business Sales Manager. He joined BuildStore in May 2017 as part of the Mortgage
Helpline team, responsible for the Whole of Market mortgage clients. Now a Broker Desk
Consultant, Jonathan enjoys the variety of each case. Using his previous experience in the industry,
Jonathan is keen to utilise his knowledge in assisting brokers to come to the best funding solution for
Rachel heads up BuildLoan and was part of the original team which created BuildStore. She has been involved in all aspects of the development of both the Accelerator Mortgage (advance stage payment mortgage model) and the self build sector itself. She is widely regarded as a Self Build Finance expert and as such is in demand for the appearances or comment by the media. She is also the key speaker for financial services at the various self build exhibitions throughout the UK.
As Head of Mortgage Operations and Customer Service, Chris is responsible for making sure our service is first class as we continue to develop new and innovative products for this specialist marketplace with our lenders, and design the products required to grow the self and custom build sector.
Debbie is responsible for all things operational for our Processing Team, it is her job to ensure that the client and broker experience throughout the mortgage application process through to the completion of the mortgage and stage releases is seamless. With excellent people skills Debbie really motivates her team to strive for excellence and continuously improve the client/broker journey. With no two applications or days being the same, Debbie thrives on the evolving, fast paced environment within BuildLoan.
Alan has 12 years of financial services experience and has worked as a Mortgage Underwriter with a number of building societies such as Skipton, Ecology and Scottish Building Society. Joining BuildLoan as a Mortgage Underwriter, Alan is now our Processing Manager and oversees the team to ensure that mortgage applications are successfully processed through to offer and completion. Alan’s experience is a great asset to his role here at BuildLoan as he has an unbeatable knowledge of lending policies, procedures and criteria.
Tom has been with us for 12 years now and has had various roles throughout the business from Mortgage Adviser, Development Finance Adviser to his most recent role as our National Relationship Manager. With a total of 28 years financial services experience he has developed a wealth of knowledge of the industry which is invaluable to the company. Tom’s main role is to forge meaningful and longstanding relationships with industry partners and clients and he is passionate about providing advice and support to self builders and developers.
Stuart joined BuildLoan as a director following his role as Business Development Manager at Mansfield Building Society with over 30 years' experience in the industry. Building key relationships and an understanding of what BuildLoan can offer within the intermediary market is Stuart's key role. A role he is well suited to due to his friendly demeanour, ability to listen and communicate well while enjoying meeting people and sharing what we do.
Michael is a Development Finance Specialist and has worked for BuildLoan for 12 years with previous roles with Only Bridging, Prudential and Santander. Day to day, Michael works with brokers and clients on various types of projects from a simple bridging loan to a large housing development to secure funding. His experience in this specialist area is a real asset to the team and means he can provide real clarity to clients and brokers on the best development finance solution for them. Recommending the best products, resolving any issues and delivering the end result of funding to see people achieve their goals is what Michael loves most about his job.
Nigel has been with the company since 2003 in various different roles including Financial Compliance Manager, Mortgage and Protection Adviser and Technical Manager, with his current role being the BuildLoan Operations Manager. Nigel has a range of responsibilities including making sure that our team are up to date with all lender criteria and processes, product development, dealing with any technical queries and reporting. Being proactive, developing ideas and analysing current practices to improve how we do things is a key part of Nigel’s new role. With a wealth of knowledge and understanding of this sector, Nigel is well placed to help grow our business and relationships with lenders.
Andrew recently joined BuildLoan in January 2017 as a Development Finance Specialist. With 16 years’ experience working in financial services, he really is an expert in his field. Andrew’s role involves working with and assisting clients and brokers to obtain development finance on a daily basis. Using his experience in the industry, Andrew is able to think outside of the box to come to the best development funding solution for our brokers and clients. Andrew is a wonderful new asset to our company and he is enjoying working with our great team of people and the varied scope of work.
Jack is part of our Processing Team working as Case Manger where he processes mortgage applications through to mortgage offer and completion of the loan. Being well organised and customer driven, Jack enjoys working within the fast pasted environment of BuildLoan. A key part of Jack's role is to communication well and regularly with brokers and clients throughout the application process to ensure that all parties are always up to date. Jack is enjoying helping clients on their journey to building their dream home and ensuring that their mortgage application runs smoothly.
Danni recently joined our Mortgage Processing Team with her previous role being a Mortgage Administrator with Lloyds Banking Group. As part of the team, Danni processes mortgage application from the initial stages right through to the completion of the loan with a strong focus on customer service.
Aaron joined our Processing Team in April 2018 as a Case Manager where he processes mortgage
applications through to mortgage offer and completion of the loan. He has just over 3 years'
experience in financial services. Prior to joining BuildLoan, Aaron worked as a Customer Services
Advisor at Lloyds Banking Group. Aaron believes in keeping his clients regularly updated and always
setting realistic timescales and expectations.
Paul is a key member of the Mortgage Processing Team here at BuildLoan where he processes mortgage applications from the early stages right through to the completion of the loan. Providing the customer and broker with the best service is important to Paul and he is focused on achieving results in terms of ensuring that our clients receive their mortgage offer and complete efficiently and effectively.
Charlene works within our Processing Team as a Case Manager where she processes our mortgage applications through to mortgage offer and completion of the loan. Prior to joining BuildLoan, Charlene worked at Lloyds Banking Group and has just over 6 years' experience in financial services. Charlene is enjoying the fast paced environment of our busy office and is looking forward to learning more and working with a great team of people.

Kristi joined us from Lloyds Banking Group and is part of our Processing Team working as Case Manger where she processes mortgage applications through to mortgage offer and completion of the loan. Being well organised, adaptable and customer driven, Kirsti works well within in the fast paced environment of our office and is enjoying creating lasting relationships with brokers and clients and providing exceptional customer service.
Andrew started in June this year coming from Deloittes. He has a strong background in customer
service and data management in the financial services sector having worked in this industry for 9
years. Since joining our Stage Release & Build Monitoring team Andrew has significantly upskilled
and grown his knowledge in the world of Self Build & Renovation allowing him to seamlessly engage
with our customers who are already in the build phase of their project, providing guidance and help
around monies being released and implementing himself as a support tool during each construction
stage. Andrew loves learning and often when not dealing with a client, he’s exploring information on
new and current build systems to aid his discussions with our clients.
With almost 20 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry, Laura-Anne has been with BuildLoan for 14 years. Laura-Anne’s role as a Stage Release Client Manager involves working with clients and brokers to facilitate each release of funds from their stage payment mortgage. Her organisational skills and knowledge of our lender’s criteria enables Laura-Anne to guide our clients through the stage release processeffectively and efficiently. No one day is the same for our team which is one of the reasons Laura-Anne enjoys her role, in addition to working with a great group of people.
Kerry has worked for Buildloan for almost 10 years in a number of different specialist areas with her most recent role being a Stage Release Client Manager. Our Stage Release Team facilitate each mortgage release throughout the self build process. Kerry is known for her excellent customer service skills along with her vast knowledge of our lender's criteria. The building process can be a stressful time and Kerry prides herself on reassuring clients and making the stage payment process as smooth as possible. Helping people achieve their dream home and working with a great team of people is what Kerry enjoys most about her role at BuildLoan.
Jodie has worked for BuildLoan for over a year as a Case Manager and has recently joined the Development Finance team. She has just over 3 years’ experience in financial services. Prior to joining BuildLoan, Jodie worked as a Customer Services Advisor at Lloyds Banking Group. Now a Trainee Adviser, Jodie enjoys working with our great team of people and the variety of each case as there is never two cases the same!
Craig has 12 year experience in financial services with his previous role being at First Mortgage Ltd as a Mortgage and Protection Adviser. Now a Development Finance Specialist, Craig enjoys the variety of each case – there is never two cases the same! From the outset, Craig ensures that his clients and brokers fully understand the application and lending requirements before entering into any agreement. After this, his main focus is to keep all parties involved and up to date through the process as communication is key.
Karin has 8 years’ experience in administration and was employed for a further 3 years as a senior customer service adviser before joining the Buildloan Team. Her excellent people skills making her the obvious choice for being the first point of contact with brokers when a case comes in.
